Smoke 'em if ya Got 'em!
The great Smokey Mountains that is! Wow, what a time we Arnold's had in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park (GSMNP). It was so fun to meet up with sisters Sue, Holly and Amy along with their stellar mates Bill, Glen and Mark. We managed to catch up and then some.
Amy and Mark rented a posh cabin high above Wears Valley just a click or so out of Townsend, TN and Sue/Bill and Holly/Glen parked in their driveway for the first nite and we posted up in an RV park just down the way.
Me and my sisters, from l-r, Amy, Sue, Holly and me. Amy's hubbie Mark is partially in the foreground doing a magnificent job of holding down that fine glass of red!
The next day we packed up the wagon and headed out to our campground at the GSMNP. Drove thru the town of Gatlinburg, TN which was absolutely hillbilly heaven. Mobbed with people, thought I was going to take out some pedestrians ambling out into the street with my side view mirrors. If you've ever seen the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" think Potterville, I'll leave the rest to your imagination.
But almost like crossing into another world, you leave the G-burg city limits and you instantly enter the peaceful and tranquil GSMNP, the transition is immediately apparent, thank God we saved these pristine places for future generations to enjoy.
We pushed on to our spot for the next 3 nites at Elkmont campground, one of the finest camp spots we have stayed at. The rushing Little River next to our site provided the fine background for a restful slumber.
We enjoyed our time with my sisters at Elkmont and the time flew way too fast.
Here's the gang...from l-r, Bill and sister Sue; Glen and sister Holly; me and Debbie; Mark and sister Amy...all hanging at Elkmont Campground, GSMNP. Who's got it better than us? Nooo body!

Very descriptive reference to Gatlinberg, thank you. "ambling out" hahahaha.
